I forgot to say that we won the pub quiz for the first time last night and that too on my birthday! When my dad called me just before I left and said we would win, I took it as a joke. Even during the quiz we didn't think we were doing too well. I contributed to only 2 of the questions, but that pipped us to the top and we ended up winning ( Read more... )

We did poorly tonight; 14 points compared to the winners who got 23 or something. We called ourselves "Proud to be Dutch because at least I'm still stoned". Last week we were "Proud to be American because at least I'm free". Last Thursday, I went for my first pub quiz in England. We didn't win but we did enjoy the Thai food served at The Hemingford Arms. Apparently this practice of outsourcing pub kitchens to Thai caterers is becoming widespread across London. Is this also happening elsewhere in Britain?
